Handcrafted braided wool rug with upcycled wool.
6.5 yds. of wool was used to braid this rug! I use wool from coats and other garments as much as possible and supplement with new wool yardage ($24-$30/yd.) for colors I don't have.
1 yd. of wool (36"x58") typically braids into a sq. ft. of rug.
It takes 5 hours of labor per sq. ft. (washing, drying, stripping, piecing, folding, braiding and lacing).
